I’ve been quite busy most evenings these last 3 months (aren’t I always, i hear you say!?) I’m excited to announce that I’m hosting and have organised the first ever “BLANTYRE OSCARS” event on Saturday 25th March at Carrigans on Broompark Road.
I’ve brought together many local businesses as sponsors for the fantastic charitable evening where proceeds are entirely going to cancer charities and to help organise the Summer gala. Hosted by my other website, this will be Blantyre Telegraph’s main fundraiser of the year and I hope one of the most exciting events in Blantyre’s calendar!
Heres how it works
I’ve chosen 15 Blantyre nominees with incredible stories from the last 12 months who have been invited along with their families and friends to recognise their talents, accomplishments, bravery, heroism and kindness. People and groups of all ages are nominated including children. In recent weeks, I’ve created 15 short videos for each nomination so people can vote for them.
The glitzy red carpet event in the function suite will see almost 170 people attend the amazing awards ceremony, luxury buffet and dance. Amazingly, over 70% of the tickets have sold out already today, on the first day of their release!! The event has created quite a buzz and is expected to sell out fast! So, if you and your friends want tickets for the hottest show in town, with an amazing buffet, live music and dancing until 1am after the professional awards ceremony, you’ll need to be quick! Tickets only available at www.blantyreoscars.com
How to Vote
YOU can vote for your favourite nominee at www.blantyreoscars.comfrom today and all through February. Voting closes on 28th February, your vote is anonymous, you can only vote once in each of the 5 categories. You can vote from wherever you are in the world, so please do have a look. The results are hidden until announced from the golden envelopes at the actual event. Check out the 90 second nomination videos for each of the 15 nominees at www.blantyreoscars.com
Daily, over the next fortnight, I’ll be showcasing the 15 nominees each evening over on Blantyre Telegraph’s facebook page, telling their incredible stories. All nominees are most deserving to win, but it’s ultimately YOU who will have the final say who wins the awards. I hope everybody supports the event by casting their votes.
