1941 – James Millar. The Smiths of High Blantyre get married. Mr Smith at Bairds Rows.

1942 – Pedestrians line Glasgow Road when Queen (Mother) visits. Also Broompark Farm. Bobby and Archie Marshall at Calderside.

1943 – Duncan family. Nancy and Margaret at Enterkin, Broompark Rd. Donny Marshall from Calderside during WW2.

1944 – David Dunsmuir WW2. James and Martha Coulter. The Duncans. Catherine Kelly.

1945 – POW Hugh McNeil of Dixon Street returns home after 3 years. Also Womens Guild. Blantyre YMCA outing. Gardner. Doyle family at Caldervale.

1946 – Parish Kirk Players. Blantyre Celtic Football Club at Hampden. Hutchesons at Auchinraith Terrace. Rev John C Battel.

1947 – Blantyre Celtic Football Club. Arthur Rochead delivering milk. Morrisons Wedding Anniversary. Miners at High Blantyre’s Priestfield Dixons 3 pit. Eddie Miller, Blantyre boxer.

1948 – Blantyre Community Centre. Robert Thomson’s shop, Hunthill Rd. Also St Josephs Football Club. Betty Weaver. Children at Caldervale / Fin Me Oot.

1949 – The Duncans and Ramages at Broompark Rd. Gord Fotheringham. 4 Generations of Nimmo males. First communion.

1949. Broompark Road. The children from left to right at the back are Margaret Duncan (Glen), Sheila Ramage (Friend), Nancy Duncan (MacFarlane), John Duncan. At the front is little Archie Duncan and Barhara Ramage. The Ramages were friends of my aunts and uncles (The Duncans).
